TOPIC: LAND AND WATER SUSTAINABILITY UNDER CONSERVATION AGRICULTURE

In response to climate change and food security, soil and water programs involving reduced tillage are being promoted to control land degradation (particularly soil erosion) and loss of soil water. Conservation of soil water is seen to be very essential to crop production. The farming and land management practices reliable to address this soil and water conservation objectives are based on no-till and maintenance of mulch cover.

This is a week long program aimed at training Agricultural Extension Agents and Farmers from the Northern and Upper Regions of Ghana on sustainable land use and soil water conservation under no tillage.
